To install the required extension for the Google Chrome browser:

  1. Navigate to the Google Web Store, then download the free V-DOCS for Chrome extension by selecting the Add to Chrome button.

  2. You will be prompted to confirm adding the extension – select Add Extension.

  3. A confirmation will appear to indicate that V-DOCS for Chrome has been added to your browser – the V-DOCS icon should show up just to the far right of the address bar.

      4. Next, click the Customize and Control Google Chrome button (the button with the 3 vertical dots located beside the V-DOCS icon in your browser) and select More Tools, then Extensions

      5. Chrome’s Extensions page will open.  Locate the V-DOCS for Chrome extension and ensure it is enabled (i.e. the toggle will be highlighted in blue when activated).  Then, select the Details link

      6. The V-DOCS for Chrome Details page will open.  Locate the Allow Access to File URLs setting, then activate the toggle.

      7. Close all Chrome browser tabs/windows and relaunch the browser to complete the V-DOCS for Chrome extension installation process.

[NOTE:  Google designed Chrome to have individual settings for each user.  If multiple people use the same terminal, each user must complete the above steps to add the extension to their browser.]

      8. If the Chrome extension is experiencing issues connecting to the V-DOCS Client, a red exclamation point will appear by the V-DOCS icon.
