Installing the V-DOCS Client is a 2-part process.

[NOTE:  Users with version 3.0 and higher can skip the first part of Disabling User Account Control and proceed directly to part two of V-DOCS Installation, below.]

Disable User Account Control

If the computer that V-DOCS is being installed on is running Windows 7, User Account Control must be turned off to ensure that V-DOCS will install properly:

  1. Click the Windows Start button, then select Control Panel.

  2. Select the System and Security option.

      3. Beneath the Action Center heading, select Change User Account Control Settings

      4. A sliding toggle controls the level of User Account Control.  Drag the slider down to Never notify, then click OK.

      5. Restart your computer so that the changes take effect.

V-DOCS Installation

The V-DOCS Client software is installed using a Microsoft installation file (MSI installer).  The link to the installer is usually provided in the email that contains the Registration Key that is sent to users to Register their terminal:

[NOTE:  Depending on your organization, the MSI installer may be provided in other ways (e.g. from your IT Support group, a CD, etc.).]

  1. Open the email containing the MSI installer and Registration Key and select the link to download the application installer.

      2. Next, select Run on the Open File prompt that appears.

      3. A V-DOCS shortcut will appear on your desktop.  If the V-DOCS Client doesn’t run automatically on start up (or you exited the application), double-clicking this shortcut will restart the application.

      4. A V-DOCS icon will also display in the system tray, indicating that the application is running and providing access to the features of the V-DOCS Client.

[NOTE:  You may need to open the expanded system tray to see the icon.]

      5. Next, you must register V-DOCS to complete the setup process – refer to Register V-DOCS Client for further information.
